Classic Everest

ITINERARY

Days 1 - 2 -- Depart for Nepal. Leave your hometown and fly to Kathmandu.
Days 3 - 4 -- Arrive in Kathmandu. Since ancient times the Kathmandu valley has been anBuddhist monks intermingling point for travelers and merchants from Tibet to the north and India to the south. This ideal location and highly fertile soils have left Kathmandu Valley with a plenitude of both Hindu and Buddhist temples as well as the spectacular medieval cities of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur. We'll take amorning tour of the valley to see the key sites such as the classic Newari (the original inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley) architecture in the medieval city of Bhaktapur, the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the Buddhist stupa at Bodhnath. The afternoon is yours to freely explore the many interesting sites in Kathmandu and Patan. We recommend :
Strolling through the bustling streets to Asan Tole, the busiest vegetable and fruit market in Kathmandu.
Take a taxi to Patan where you'll find the greatest concentration of temples and shrines in the Kathmandu Valley as well as the heart of the Tibetan crafts industry.
Take a bicycle rickshaw ride to Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple) with wonderful views over the whole of the Kathmandu Valley,.
Just wander and enjoy the exotic yet intimate street life and shops of Durbar Square, Thamel, Durbar Marg, or Freak Street.
Days 5 - 16 Trek Begins. This is an 11 day trek into the heart of the Everest region which culminates in a spectacular climb up to Kala Patar Peak (18190 ft). Activities on this tek include: Exploring Buddhist monasteries, roaming the famous Namche Bazaar Market,
Days 20 - 21 -- Return to Kathmandu where we'll finish up the trip with a farewell dinner.
Days 22 - 23 -- Return Home.
